About
We're building this because we lived through it.
Ardvarq exists because higher education does not work the way it could, and Brad spent four years at the University of Colorado Boulder watching that gap up close.
Most students are processed through a system built for credentialing. The advising office is structured around requirement verification, not exploration. The catalog is organized by department, not student interest. The students who succeed inside it are mostly the ones who inherit the navigational knowledge that makes it manageable. The students who do not are left to figure it out alone.
The university container is one of the most valuable things in modern life. But the operating system inside it was built for a world where the credential meant something durable. That world is ending, and the operating system has not changed.
Ardvarq is what comes next.
The story
That is the experience we are trying to protect. Not the credential. Not the GPA. The experience of becoming a person, supported by humans who see you clearly and given the space to figure out who you are.
The team
Brad Banner
Founded Ardvarq after four years of academic advising at CU Boulder. Built v1 solo. Neuroscience degree, philosophy minor, the company's sole engineer.
Gavi Fox
Co-founder. CU Boulder class of 2026.
The system will evolve, or we will build what replaces it. Either way, the students who come next will not get stuck in the assembly line.
